Hi, I’m Saviz Shalchian, a British-Iranian-born artist (1986) whose work transcends the boundaries of realism and surrealism. My Artistic Journey

From an early age, I demonstrated a remarkable talent for painting. At just seven years old, my extraordinary ability was recognized when I effortlessly completed an art exam for my older sister. This early recognition led my parents to nurture my gift, introducing me to the works of Iranian masters. By the age of eight, I was honing my skills under the tutelage of the renowned artist Abbas Kertouzian, an experience that laid a solid foundation for my future endeavors. My formal education continued at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK, where I earned both my degree and master’s in Art and Design.

My Artistic Process

From Hands to Canvas

My work blends realistic details with surrealism elements, creating a unique interplay that pushes the boundaries of traditional portraiture. All of my pieces are paintings, primarily using acrylic and oil on canvas, and most are quite large in scale. Each piece is hand-drawn and meticulously crafted as a one-of-a-kind work, ensuring that every painting is truly unique.

With a commitment to artistic excellence and a passion for storytelling, I am poised to make a significant impact on the international art scene.

My career is adorned with numerous achievements, including two sold-out solo exhibitions in 2014 and 2019, and participation in numerous art fairs and exhibitions worldwide. One of my most poignant accomplishments is a commissioned piece inspired by my personal journey, created for a children’s cancer charity. This artwork is set to be a permanent display, symbolizing hope and resilience for many years to come. In the Iranian market, I have exclusively collaborated with the prestigious ArtCenter gallery, solidifying my reputation as a leading artist.p
